Style Shopfitting were selected as main contractor for the expansion and refit of Feelunique at Au Caprice which reached completion in February 2014. Style Shopfitting worked alongside project managers Sheridan & Co – a global retail design agency– and interior designer Stuart Dryden, of Waddingtons Interiors, to implement the project.
Originally located at 25-27 King Street, the Au Caprice shop was extended into 23 King Street to create a 2900 sq ft walk though store. The project involved general store alterations and demolitions, followed by a complete strip out and refit, including new flooring, walls, ceilings, M & E installations, decorations and lighting.
Specially designed feature ceilings with drop down levels and integrated LED lighting were constructed on site, whilst perimeter unit surrounds and elements of the wall fitments were built in the Style Shopfitting Joinery workshop. Style Shopfitting coordinated and produced a variety of different wall finishes to creating different features around the store including Muraspec feature board walls, spray painted walls, Polyrey finishes and Textura gold leaf style wallpapers.
In the men’s grooming area Style Shopfitting installed a ramp with a frameless glass infill balustrade further adding to the modern design of the store. Meanwhile, the flooring throughout the space was completed in an Amtico wood effect tile with two contrasting tones.
During the entirety of the project and despite poor weather conditions, Style Shopfitting worked hard to ensure the main contract was completed in mid-February prior to the arrival of eight individual shopfitters, who would kit the store out for the various brands.
Following the completion of the Feelunique project, Style Shopfitting became involved with the L’Horizon Beach Hotel and Spa project, which saw an existing open-plan conference area transformed into a stunning health and relaxation facility. L’Horizon Spa includes six treatment rooms, two relax rooms, manicure and pedicure area, a sleep room, reception and toilet facilities.
During the works Style Shopfitting updated the ground floor office space, along with the entrance staircase and lobby. This aspect of the project required the team to work out of hours, so they carefully planned the work to ensure guests would not be disturbed.
Additional works on the project included roofing, the installation of wall tiling, solid and glazed partitions and suspended ceilings. Style Shopfitting was also responsible for upholstery, decorations – including staining timber doors, wallpapering and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing installations.
