With a company ethos of integrity, pragmatism and diligence – plus a wealth of architectural talent, PF & A Architects have established themselves as one of the leading design practices in Guernsey.

Now with a 14-strong team of interior designers, 3D modellers, technologists, technicians and site construction administrators, the practice feel that they are better positioned than ever to provide clients with a top rate service.

With a proven track record of achieving planning success in Guernsey over the last 20 years, PF & A Architects are well equipped to support their clients – during every stage of the design and build process, from inception to completion.

The company maintains a relaxed working environment, in which creative design can flourish – with impressive results. Take, for example, two recent imaginatively designed housing developments – Infinity Gardens at La Vrangue, St Peter Port, and Infinity Crescent – for leading Island developers Infinity, whose construction arm Infinity Construction, together with many local sub contractors, are responsible for building the schemes.

Comprising 11 new or completely renovated properties, Infinity Gardens is a distinctive development with style and character and has been developed around an existing property known as Vrangue House. The scheme includes four one-bedroom houses, two two- bedroom houses, one three-bedroom house and four four-bedroom houses, in a convenient location on the outskirts of St Peter Port.

Alex Waitrose, director of PF & A Architects said:

“The site was a sensitive one as it is within the urban area and included a number of trees which had to be retained. Vrangue House is an 150 year old attractive granite-faced property which we extensively refurbished, including fitting a new roof, windows and doors, sub-divided and converted into five one-bedroom houses. To the rear of the site is an outbuilding, which we extended and converted into two additional two-bedroom houses, clad in weatherboard, with a further four new build three storey four- bedroom houses also being constructed to the side of the main house.”

Due for completion in early summer 2015, the properties  boast an exceptional standard of finish throughout and a high standard of modern fixtures and fittings, as well as lots of natural light. All units will have designated gardens and allocated parking. Beautiful communal gardens will also provide an eye-catching backdrop for this innovative development. “One of the great things about this development is that it is almost like having a park in your back garden,” said Alex Whitmore.

Externally, Infinity Gardens is situated on a 1.36 acre site with mature trees and landscaped gardens to be enjoyed by the residents, which is unique for a new homes development in St. Peter Port.

Popular with buyers due to its stunning and unique design, Infinity Crescent features an innovatively shaped crescent comprising 11 contemporary homes, plus another four more traditionally designed three-bedroom properties with fenced gardens fronting Stanley Road.

“This is a unique development due to its curved feature terrace, with these houses being located over an underground car park and within a communal garden,” said Alex Whitmore.

“For us this was a really exciting and challenging development and pushed our creativity in order to maximise the number of homes on a constrained site.

“The outer elevation of the crescent is in granite, whilst the internal face of the crescent is largely glazed and overlooks the gardens. The slate roofing was particularly challenging due to the crescent shaped form.

“The scheme certainly caught the imaginations of buyers, because all 11 of the crescent units were bought off plan,” he added.
