In terms of property, the rail and construction specialist has the resources and capabilities to deliver successful property works with experience in station refurbishment works, platform refurbishment, Access For All scheme projects and footbridge refurbishments.

As an accredited Track Safety Training and Assessment Provider, Story Contracting provide opportunities for those who wish to increase their skill level. They also carry out On Track Plant (OTP) training and assessment across the entire suite of the OTP framework.

As active members of the Association of Rail Training Providers (ARTP), this has enabled the company to contribute to national training material. Story Contractors accreditations enable them to carry out internal training and external assessments for on-track personnel (up to PICOP level) and road rail operators.

The Training Centre that the team provides offers a range of training, assessments and qualifications for the rail, construction and plant industries. Taking place on a regular basis, the training schemes include PTS Initial AC/DCCR, COSS Initial OLP/CRP, ES Initial, IWA Initial, Lookout Initial and plenty of others.

Scarborough Bridge underbridge reconstruction is just one of the projects in their portfolio, alongside Appleby Station bridge reconstruction and Causewayhead Road Stirling underbridge reconstruction.

Developments on Scarborough Bridge involved a twin span bridge reconstruction project. It was a complex and highly sensitive project located over the River Ouse to the north of York Station just 40m off the end of Platform 4. With a value of ÂŁ4.6M, the developments took just four months to complete.

The underbridge reconstruction at Causewayhead Road, Sterling, involved a Victorian bridge that takes the Highland Main Line over a key arterial road route into the centre of Stirling. The bridge was successfully replaced during a 54-hour weekend possession as a crowd of local residents looked on.

In addition to the rail division, Story Contracting also has a construction division in which the team ensure high quality and timely construction projects.
