Train company TransPennine Express has released a new time-lapse video showing its existing trains being given a brand new look.

Each three carriage, Class 185 train is being rebranded in metallic silver featuring the North Star with the design reflecting the company’s pledge to ‘Take the North Further’.

The new vinyl is being applied to 51 trains in total with the work taking place in the North of England at the Siemens Train Care Facility in Ardwick, Manchester.

More than 17 miles of film will be used to cover the entire train fleet with around 180sqm being applied to each individual train, roughly the same size as a four-bed detached house.

The video, which has been created by time-lapse production company Site-Eye can be found at: www.tpexpress.co.uk/news/2017/05/transpennine-express-trains-receive-a-metallic-makeover/

Fast free Wi-Fi is also being installed on these trains as well as an on-board entertainment system featuring a wide range of films, TV shows, newspapers and magazines.

Starting from 2018, TPE will also be introducing 44 brand new, state-of-the-art trains as part of a £500million investment.
