The Old Ship Hotel, located on Brighton’s famous seafront, has scooped Best Customer Service award at the Brighton & Hove Business Awards (BAHBAs) hosted at Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel on 14th July 2018.
The hotel, part of The Cairn Collection, was awarded the accolade by the judges for its “excellent attention detail when dealing with customers” and for going the extra mile for guests to improve their experience.
Judges were impressed with The Old Ship’s attitude towards guests including the ‘three metre’ rule, which ensures staff members greet every customer who passes within three metres. The team also treats man’s best friend with equal care and attention with a dog biscuit jar on reception and a special ‘dog package’ for overnight stays which includes a dog bed, blanket, bowl and biscuits.

The team from the Old Ship Hotel were presented with their award at a lavish gala dinner ceremony attended by around 500 guests made up of some of Brighton’s top business leaders, the judging panel and a selection of VIPs including superstar DJ Norman Cook.
The BAHBAs, established in 2005, celebrate the city’s leading organisations and are firmly established as a benchmark for excellence within the local community.
