The Restaurant Show 2018Celebrating its 30th anniversary, The Restaurant Show 2018 returns in October with an impressive line-up of experts, influencers and industry names coming together to share expertise and life lessons. In addition, with over 450 exhibitors to explore too, The Restaurant Show is set to be a feast of ideas and inspiration.

The show will be held on 1-3 October 2018 at Olympia London. Among the exciting names already confirmed to speak are Tom Kerridge of the Hand and Flowers and Daniel Clifford of Midsummer House.

Visitors can also look forward to hearing from sustainable food pioneer Doug McMaster, Founder of Silo Brighton, as he talks about his new venture and partnership with leading bartender Mr Lyan of White Lyan and Super Lyan. These two trailblazers are blending food and drink in their new project, CUB. Learn how they’re bringing people together with an innovative planet-positive menu that makes customers’ minds and bellies happy. The World’s 50 Best Bars team will be attendance, shaking things up with a lively session on why cocktails matter.

Furthermore, experimental marketer and founder of Digital Blonde Karen Fewell will be running a session on how to make sure your social media posts stand out in a crowded online space. ‘Digital storytelling: the secret ingredient for social media success’ will include live digital storytelling in action as Karen translates dishes created by former Young National Chef of the Year and star of the BBC’s Million Pound Menu, Ruth Hansom, into killer content.

The live sessions from MCA’s Strategic Advisor Simon Stenning always draw a crowd, as he shares the latest research, giving away valuable insights for everyone in the industry. Among the subjects he’ll cover this year is Casual Dining, looking at future growth, movement and key trends to explore. There will also be an unmissable session for the pub and bar trade, discussing how quality drinks and improved experiences are bringing customers back to wet-led pubs.

The Restaurant Show will also provide the perfect opportunity to see some of the industry’s rising stars and talented professionals battle it out in the kitchen. One to watch is The Copa Jerez final on Monday 1st October. This high-profile international competition sees teams of chefs and sommeliers from restaurants in seven countries meet to create the perfect marriage between modern cooking and centuries-old wine.

The heat is really on in the kitchen as talented chefs compete to become the new Craft Guild of Chefs National Chef of the Year and passionate newcomers cook up a storm for the chance to be crowned Young National Chef of the Year. The show sees all the intense action in the kitchen as well as the special ceremony announcing the winners of this prestigious competition.

There will be several other top culinary competitions taking place during the show too, including The Kikkoman Masters and Compass Chef of The Year.

With over 450 suppliers expected to be in attendance at this year’s show, there will be plenty to try, taste and discover.
