Hotel Indigo Birmingham £1 makeover

The £1m refurbishment of Hotel Indigo Birmingham is complete. The investment included a huge renovation of all 52 guest rooms including the reception and lobby areas.

Located in the building at the heart of Birmingham’s transformation, the hotel is perched on the top floors of the iconic Cube building, giving guests stunning, uninterrupted views over a captivating skyline and thriving, ambitious neighbourhood and its canals.

The project took six months to complete with the design heavily influenced by Birmingham’s canals and city centre landmarks. Interior designers were Matthews Mee.

The guest rooms and public areas all feature decorative accents, vivid murals and design touches that showcase the local neighbourhood heritage and unique architecture.

The four-star boutique hotel boasts flat screen Satellite TVs, complimentary mini-bars, and invigorating rainfall showers in every room.

Nick Taplin, CEO of Black and White Hospitality who own and manage Hotel Indigo Birmingham, said: “As a service-driven business, we are constantly working on new ways to enhance our guest experience. The investment is part of our ongoing strategy to ensure we keep moving forward and keep improving every part of our business.

“The new rooms look fantastic with comfy beds and a design that caters for the modern, high-tech traveller. The rooms have everything that today’s corporate and leisure guests require.”

Hotel Indigo Birmingham is just a short 10-minute stroll from Birmingham’s New Street Rail Station. Guests have access to its luxury health club and award-winning spa with high tech gym, pool and relaxation areas. The rooftop Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill sits atop of the hotel with an extensive menu and great bar and stunning outdoor terrace area.

The hotel’s Haig Bar, The Private Dining Room and Champagne Bar can accommodate up to 60 delegates. All three rooms are located on Level 25 and benefit from spectacular views of the city.

Widely considered one of the most compelling additions to Birmingham’s ever-changing skyline, The Cube is a world-class destination located in the heart of the city. Home to a vibrant mix of indulgent restaurants and bars, aspirational apartments and prime office space, this 25-storey structure also comprises the UK’s largest automated car park.

The Cube is located just minutes from The Mailbox, Brindleyplace, the ICC and Birmingham’s impressive retail offering that includes The Bullring and newly opened Grand Central. Designed by award-winning architects Ken Shuttleworth and Make, the building’s iconic jewel-like exterior is complemented by an interior filled with evocative bronze sculptures by renowned local street artist, Temper.

Just as no places are alike, no two Hotel Indigo properties are alike. Each Hotel Indigo draws inspiration from the local neighbourhood, culture and popular trends in food, drink and design to create a warm and vibrant atmosphere.

Hotel Indigo hotels provide a gateway to discover and explore some of the world’s most inspiring cities and neighbourhoods. With 85 locations open worldwide and a quality global pipeline of 86 hotels, the Hotel Indigo estate is set to double in size to 174 properties within the next three to five years.
