York’s only five-star hotel, The Grand, York, has been honoured with two award wins at the annual Splendid Awards 2019 held by Splendid Hospitality Group on Monday 18 February at Hilton London Bankside.
The glittering awards ceremony recognised high-achieving hotels and individual talent, shining a spotlight on their successes from the previous year. The core values of the group were celebrated with a focus on genuine services creating extraordinary experiences, positively impacting lives, and continually improving. Presenting the prestigious awards were Chairman of Splendid Hospitality, Shiraz Boghani, Vice Chairman of Splendid Hospitality, Nadeem Boghani, and CEO of Splendid Hospitality, Stuart Bailey.
The Grand, York was firstly celebrated for winning Splendid Hotel of the Year due to the exceptional success and achievement throughout the business. Owing to a year of transformation, led by a £15 million refurbishment project, the hotel has seen the creation of 100 new bedrooms, doubling capacity, and the building of a new cookery school, launching in March 2019 as part of their expanded available services and facilities.
In addition, Philip Bolson was awarded Splendid General Manager of the Year for his unerring passion, dedication to leading the hotel during the transformational journey, and his commitment to the team and local community.
