Keyline, the UK’s number one Civils Specialists thanks everyone who participated in this year’s rally in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. With everyone involved, from staff to suppliers and all sponsors , playing a huge part in the success of this 10-year milestone. Keyline is proud to announce the raising of £119,658 this year alone in support of the charity.

As the teams embarked on their classic car adventure, they partook in challenges along the way, all documented with photographic evidence. All points were totalled up on the last day to determine the winner. Challenges included; convoy into the campsite as a team, collect a 110mm drainage part and a team photo in front of the pit garages at the Reims-Gueux circuit, a former host of the French Grand Prix. The winning team was announced as the ‘Family Guys’ which consisted both Keyline employees and suppliers.

It wasn’t all fun and games along the way though, as newbies to the rally and customers of Keyline, Conlon, had to end their trip on the second day. Having reached St Dizier leg of the journey, the team suffered an unfortunate hose burst, meaning a premature end and flight home.

Keyline employees, suppliers and customers are all in agreement that the rally is a fun and engaging way to raise money for such a great cause. The construction industry has a predominantly male workforce which is why it is pivotal for the charity to engage with everyone that’s part of it.

Keyline Managing Director, Paul Beaman comments on this year’s rally activity: Keyline want to personally thank everyone who took part in the rally in some way. Without all of the participants and the many sponsors, none of this would have been possible. Each year builds further awareness of prostate cancer, brings more people together and raises much-needed funding for such a great cause! We hope, going forwards, this keeps on growing.”

Polypipe Commercial Strategy Manager, Steve Smith comments: “This is my 8th rally on behalf of Polypipe and every year it is just as enjoyable and fulfilling. We get so much attention as we drive across Europe, with people questioning what we are doing and why. And that reason is, if we can make just ONE man aware of the disease, and they take a test that could save their life… well that’s why we do this.”

Bateman Groundworks Managing Director, Jason Ramsey comments: “This is the 4th year we have taken part in the Keyline rally for Prostate Cancer UK, a charitable cause that is perfectly aligned to our workforce.

The rally is a well organised and entertaining and we love meeting likeminded people (even when dressed as Mr Potato Head and Rex from Toy Story!).

The itinerary is always impressive, but this year’s standout moment was driving the highest paved mountain pass in the Eastern Alps, along the Stelvio Pass, taking in the breath-taking scenery of France, Italy and Switzerland, offering a moment of reflection and gratitude as well as raising awareness along the way.

We’re always blown away by the generous and selfless donations from our staff, suppliers, and clients who help us hit our fundraising goals every year.

I sincerely hope that no one in our team ever needs the support of Prostate Cancer UK, however, we will continue to support the Keyline Rally to promote awareness and raise as much money as we can to help fund research for better diagnosis, better treatments and better preventions.”
