Bao Li Xuan awarded 1 Michelin Star
Located in Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai’s historic Chamber of Commerce Shanghai building, Bao Li Xuan will celebrate its first anniversary during October 2019. An enchanting blend of classic nostalgia and metropolitan modernity framed by its unique heritage setting dating back to 1916, the restaurant serves exquisite Cantonese cuisine prepared by Chef Fu from Hong Kong. With more than 25 years of culinary experience, Chef Fu has helmed Michelin star restaurants in Macau and Hong Kong where his style of preserving traditional flavours using superior ingredients is elevated with elegant contemporary presentation creating an unforgettable Cantonese fine dining experience.

Bao Li Xuan is the first Chinese restaurant for the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection globally. Together with my talented team, it is a great honour to receive our first Michelin star for our refined Cantonese cuisine served up within the lens of the luxurious Bvlgari lifestyle,” says Chef Fu of Bao Li Xuan at Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai.

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito awarded 1 Michelin Star
Signature Italian restaurant Il Ristorante – Niko Romito on the uppermost floor of the hotel has confirmed its 1 Michelin star.

Il Ristorante – Niko Romito represents a unique collaboration between Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts and the renowned Italian chef-patron of 3 Michelin star restaurant Reale in Abruzzo. Showcasing a new gastronomic concept that the chef specially designed for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, Il Ristorante – Niko Romito is currently present in the Bvlgari properties of Dubai, Beijing, Shanghai and Milan. Niko Romito is one of very few Michelin-awarded chefs in Italy to receive this prestigious acknowledgement by the Michelin Guide both in his home country and internationally.

Il Ristorante is the result of two years of study and research to develop a new model of Italian cuisine for the luxury world that speaks 100% Italian. The recognition by such an authoritative gastronomic guide as Michelin is an important testimony of the strength of our concept and the solid and consistent work that our teams are undertaking in Shanghai and around the world. The authentic essence of Italian dining is being understood and appreciated by our guests and diners and this makes me very proud of my team and the overall project,” says Chef Niko Romito.

The Il Ristorante menu is based on the chef’s philosophy of simplicity, synthesis and a quest for the quintessence of flavour, establishing a true “canon” of contemporary Italian cuisine that expresses the culture, elegance and vitality of ‘Made in Italy’ to the maximum. Starting from traditional recipes, the ending point of the menu is a punctual yet updated philological reinterpretation of Italian heritage that is streamlined and essential.

The resident chef at Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai is Davide Capucchio. After many years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants in Italy and France, Davide joined the Accademia Niko Romito in 2017 and worked closely with Chef Romito to develop the new gastronomic concept for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts.
