DCW 2020

As part of their call for speakers, the team behind Digital Construction Week has launched a campaign to encourage new voices to speak at the show.

Digital Construction Week is the UK’s only event dedicated to digital construction, engineering, design, manufacturing, and operation. The show will take place on 21-22 October 2020 at ExCeL London and is expected to attract over 6,000 visitors from the global AECO industry.

Applicants have until Friday 29 May to apply to join the line-up of industry experts and thought leaders presenting at the 2020 event.

Event director Ollie Hughes says: “Digital Construction Week is all about sharing ideas, hearing from different people and growing the community.

“Our call for speakers is open to the entire industry and every year we welcome hundreds of speakers to take to the stage. If you have a fresh perspective and new ideas to share that could help drive our industry forward, then we want to hear from you.

“Over the years we’ve welcomed a lot of new and first time speakers. The energy, perspective and inspiration they provide is part of what makes the DCW programme so exciting. That’s why we’re urging anyone who’s new to the stage, that feels they have something exciting to share with the AECO community, to apply to speak. And if you haven’t presented at a show before, don’t let that put you off.

“We’re of course always interested in the latest thinking and developments at the cutting edge. But one of the things we really love hearing about is people’s journey. Whether you’re just starting out, have lessons learnt and experiences that you’re keen to share or are working on something that you feel could help or inspire others, then we want to encourage you to share it.”

Digital Construction Week features 10 different theatres that focus on some of the key trends shaping digital construction including BIM, Geospatial, Visualisation, Business Transformation, Industry 4.0. and more. Read more about the theatres here.

The team wants to receive submissions that feature case studies, research projects, debates, workshops, live demos, how-to guides, examples of best practice, new technologies and new ideas.

Ollie continues: “We need your help. If you know someone who you think should be sharing their work, ideas or experiences at DCW 2020, then we want to hear about them.

“Maybe it’s someone you work with? Or maybe you’ve seen them on social media? Whichever it is, we’d love you to share this story with them, or send your speaker suggestions to”

How to apply

To apply potential speakers need to submit details of their presentation via the speaker application form before the deadline of Friday 29 May.

Presentations should be 25 minutes long, including 5 minutes for Q&As at the end. Applicants are encourage to submit more than one presentation, so don’t be afraid to get creative.

It’s free to apply and there is no charge to speak at Digital Construction Week. Speakers are chosen by selecting the best quality presentations submitted via the call for speakers.
